The London skyline has been peppered with, if not dominated by domed cathedrals, soaring spires, majestic clock towers, royal palaces and other historic, traditional, and architecturally important buildings and structures since its beginning – all part of London’s urban landscape that we have come to appreciate and seek out, much of it tied together by a generous and well-organized system of parks and squares that make London the walkable city that it is. While that environment still exists today, a new skyline is emerging that offers a stark contrast to that more traditional architectural character.
