Strasbourg, France                                                                                       Strasbourg, France could indeed be “one of the most charming towns” in Europe . . . our first taste of urbanity on this Viking tour.  On a much grander scale than Comar, Strasbourg seems to have it all . . . from great historic and contemporary architecture, meandering canals with waterfront housing, to state-of the art transit serving the area. Strasbourg is the capital and principal city of the Alsace region in eastern France and is the official seat of the European Parliament, so it does seem to survive quite well on more than tourists.  It is one city in which we all could have spent more time, and we all agreed it was a city to visit again.
