Basel, Switzerland
The town of Basel lies in the north-western corner of Switzerland. The town shares borders with France and Germany and is the heart of this tri-national region. Basel is Switzerland’s 3rd largest city and its location along both sides of the Rhine River affords a high quality of life. There is a great transit system and well-maintained parks along the River. I arrived in Basel a few days for boarding The Jarl, and stayed in a small hotel across the street from the Basel Convention Center. A very interesting and unique structure, this exhibition hall was redesigned to meet the needs of the flagship watch and jewelry show, Baselworld, and its construction anchored the city’s redevelopment plan for this area. For more information go to Basel’s Convention Center.
We’ll done! Lots of information for anyone who is planning a river cruise or visiting any of these cities.
