Lower Slaughter to Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire County
We checked into The Slaughters’ Country Inn, set on four serine acres overlooking the River Eye. The 5-star rated Inn is a 300-year family-run hotel that includes the best of both worlds . . . historic architecture and charm (where one has to “mind your head” when maneuvering through the bar and lounging areas), and modern-day design and conveniences in the very comfortable and well-appointed rooms and suites. Some rooms were single-story two-room suites located in the main building, while others were two-story units located in nearby structures. I enjoyed a second-level two-bedroom apartment with private bath overlooking one of the landscaped courtyards.
