We hiked on through several small clusters of residences, farms, and pastures with more grazing sheep until we worked our way across and down the hillside enjoying the cool breeze, cloudy skies, and beautiful rural countryside.
We planned on having lunch in the town of Stanton, only a mile or so away at this point. As we headed into the village, the area looked more like a Hollywood set, than a real English county village; large stone homes with courtyards, quiet streets and no visible signs of typical community activity. The only commercial establishment in town is the fantastic pub and restaurant, The Mount, high on the hill at the other end of the village, where we enjoyed the sunshine and lunch overlooking the village.
