We also checked out the Amager District and Islands Brygge area, south of Sydhavnen and the central city.  This area has recently undergone a major redevelopment effort, including the addition of new higher density residences, the adaptive reuse of former warehouses into offices and residences, incorporating neighborhood restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, and service establishments, and the addition of popular open space, linear parks and walking / biking paths that parallel the waterway, where outdated rail-oriented industrial development existed in the not so distant past.
